What did You see

HIS VOICE DAILY DEVOTIONAL

TOPIC: WHAT DID YOU SEE?

TEXT: LUKE 1:22
And when he came out, he could not speak unto them: and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple: for he beckoned unto them, and remained speechless. KJV

Zecharias stayed in the inner court longer than expected. The people who were waiting outside, praying, were worried. When he came out and was unable to speak, they perceived that he had seen a vision. How did they know? The people must have been acquainted with the reality that when there is an unusual occurrence with the priest who went into the presence of God in the most holy place, the hand of God must have been involved. It wouldn’t be as a result of his sin but most likely an encounter that depicts a significant event.

Zacharias saw the angel Gabriel, who gave him the answer to his prayers and was dumb because of his unbelief. But the point is, he had the foremost encounter or revelation about his life which will bring an everlasting joy, not just to himself but also to the people. Can I ask you, what did you see or what have you seen?

Most of us, have seen visions which are pointers to our prayers been answered. The Lord has showed us glimpse of what he will do or has done. Did you take note of your visions? Do you believe in what you saw? Do you even take your time to remember and interpret them accurately, so that you can be in tune with what the Lord is doing in your life presently?

What Zacharias saw caused his mouth to be shut. In the real sense, his physical mouth need not to be shut, he was to receive the vision and praise God for the manifestation, while he keep it from the hears of everyone except revealing to his wife secretly till the manifestation comes. Whatever the Lord has shown you, is not to be spread abroad. Learn to keep your mouth shut!

Don’t spread around God’s answer to your prayers, let it manifest before you begin to spread the good news. Keep your mouth closed. Be conscious of the visions you saw and keep it to your heart, while you continue to appreciate and give thanks to the name of the Lord. Your ability to be silent shows that you trust God who reveals the secret to you or gave you a direction to your desire through his vision. It is for your consumption and that of your family if need be. You should be able to discern when to speak and when to be quiet. There is time for everything!

PRAYER

Thank you Lord. I do not trivialise what you showed me in the visions of the night or through the revelation of your words. I learn to receive them with accurate interpretation and keep my mouth shut as I await the manifestation of that which I have seen in your appointed time for my life in Jesus’ name. Amen

Who is God IX

HIS VOICE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
THURSDAY, 9TH FEBRUARY 2023
TOPIC: WHO IS GOD IX

TEXT: PSALMS 27:4
One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. KJV

Yesterday, we established that God is the desire of all men. His desire rest on the sincerity of men to seek him. Moses, the servant of God led the children of Israel in the way that they should go through the guidance of God’s law and commandment. A very vital part as we learned yesterday is found in Deuteronomy 10:12. The commandment was like an alarm,
And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, KJV

In summary, God asked his people to seek him and ensure that their hearts, mind and will is only on Him. David, one of Isreal’s foremost King, understood the import of this command. God testified of him as the man after his own heart because of the manner he conducted himself before him and gave his heart to seek the Lord.

In his writing, found in Psalms 27:4, we can truly establish the desire of David towards God. His irrevocable desire to do as God as commanded in his law, led him to seek after God and he made seeking God his utmost priority.

He was a man of one thing. Just as Jesus told Martha_ One thing is needful and Mary has found that path which shall not be taken away from her_ (Luke 10:42)

Dear child of God, can you declare and make God your utmost desire? Can you truly set your focus to behold his beauty and enquire in his temple? We have no such record in the scriptures that a man who seeks God, wasted his time. We have no such record! Rather, we have the testimony of men who seek God and found a reason to live beyond material possession. Such men became a force to reckon with in their lifetime and afterwards.

God is the one that must be worshipped till eternity.

PRAYER

Thank you Father. My heart is towards your name and the worship of your person. Who am I without you? What can I become in your absence? My life is worth a living because you live. Grant me understanding to seek you in all sincerity and honesty in Jesus’ name. Amen

Your Attitude to Prayer VIII

HIS VOICE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
THURSDAY, 22ND SEPTEMBER 2022
TOPIC: YOUR ATTITUDE TO PRAYER VIII

TEXT: ACTS 3:1
Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour (3:00 p.m.) AMPV

The Apostle’s devotion to other brethren is having an hour separated for praying. In your commitment to prayer, you should have a time set apart to pray without distraction. Here, we see that the hour separated to praying was consistent. Let’s read the same verse in the New living translation, it says;
Peter and John went to the Temple one afternoon to take part in the 3 o’ clock prayer service.

They went to take part in the prayer which was slated for 3pm in the afternoon. So, it was not only the Apostles that went for the prayer, other believers must have attended as well. This is a congregational prayer. A service meant for praying. We see this culture in most of our church service today. And we must ensure that we attend consistently without losing the essence of our gathering with others for prayer.

Beyond the congregational prayer is the prayer that we engage in personally. We can have any hour of the day for ourselves to pray. We can decide to pray more than once a day. Morning and night is good and we can do more. However, there is a provision for us by the Spirit of God. We are instructed to pray without ceasing (stopping) thus to fulfil this command we can pray with the spirit language. We can be helped, sustained and equipped by the Spirit of God.

Pray in the Spirit (pray with or in other tongues). This enable us to pray ceaselessly. Whether you are at work, in the kitchen or at home. Get your mind fixed on praying and keep speaking in tongues under your breathe. He that speaks in an unknown tongue speaks not unto men but unto God, for no man understands him; howbeit in the Spirit, he speaks mysteries. (1Corinthians 14:2)

I will pray with the Spirit and I will pray with the understanding (Acts 14:15). Don’t settle for praying with and in the language that you understand only. Employ all the benefit of God towards you in Christ Jesus. Cultivate the habit of a consistent and continual act of praying in the Spirit.

PRAYER

Thank you, Father for the gift of the Holy Spirit. He gave me and many others utterance according to God’s will. Therefore, I maintain a prayer filled life by engaging the ability of the Spirit in tongues. I pray with the understanding and with the Spirit of God in Jesus’ name.

He is The Temple of God

HIS VOICE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
WEDNESDAY, 20TH APRIL 2022
TOPIC: HE IS THE TEMPLE OF GOD
TEXT: 2CORINTHIANS 6:16
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. (KJV)

The believer is the house of God, the temple of the living God. God dwells in the believer, lives in him. The Godhead resides in the believe.

1John 4:13 established the reality of God’s presence in the believer. He made the believer’s body his temple, it says; Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. (KJV)

Verse 15 laid the foundation of the believer’s right to God through his confession of faith, it says; Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. (KJV)

Isn’t this beautiful? God dwells in everyone who had confess that Jesus is the Son of God. Which means the confession is not an ordinary words. It is power that saves with the evidence of God taking over the person’s life forever. What are you waiting for? God is willing to dwell in you, be your God and you will become his child. Take hold of this truth and make use of it.

The believer’s body is not his own. He is brought with a price, even with the precious blood of Jesus. Once you believe in the death and resurrection of Christ, you confessed him and become born again, your body takes on another form. It becomes a lively building where God’s presence resides. You won’t be ordinary anymore and no one can lay hands on you suddenly. For you have been possessed by God. Hallelujah!

Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body. (1Corinthians 6:19-20 NLT)

You need to live life on a different plane from now on. Allow me lead you in the prayer of salvation as you desire that God would dwell in you.

PRAYER

Today, I believe with my heart that Jesus died for my sins, and was raised by the power of God for my justification. I confess Jesus as the Son of God, and by this, I become the temple of the living God. God dwells in me and I in him, I am not my own anymore. For God purchased me from darkness with the price of the precious blood of Jesus. Thank you Lord. Amen
