Your Desire – In Accordance with his Will

HIS VOICE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
FRIDAY, 26TH JANUARY 2023
TOPIC: YOUR DESIRE – IN ACCORDANCE WITH HIS WILL

TEXT: 1JOHN 5:14
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: KJV

These are days when many aren’t sure of the answer to their prayers. It’s very funny when you see believers and hear them speak as though God has no commitment towards their lives. When you pray in accordance to his will, he hears. The problem is not the act of praying which you do by exercising your faith but the content.

What are you asking the Lord in prayer? What’s the content of your desired petition? Are they in accordance with his will or against his will for your life? Yesterday, we studied that your desire will be in exact relation with God’s will when you delight your thoughts in his will which is his word. Therefore, whatsoever you ask in prayer in accordance to his word, you can be sure that he hears. Your faith won’t fall to the ground and will come back with result as long as your desire is in line with his will.

1John 5:15 says; And since we know he hears us when we make our requests, we also know that he will give us what we ask for.(NLT)

There is no need to fret, when you are certain that your desire is in sync with his will. This means that you can rest on the truth that God hears you and whatever you have asked for, he will do it. This is enough to always want to exercise faith because you know that it will bring about a full recompense of reward.

Since you know that health is God’s will and you desire the same in your heart, haven exercised your faith by praying and placing demand on God’s will which is healing, you can go on and rest in his power. Because, you have the petition that what you desired of him he hears and will answer. What you should be expecting is a healed body. A perfect part of the body, functioning rightly as you desire. Whatever you are sure is God’s will, exercise your faith towards it, pray and be certain that God will hear and will respond to your desire appropriately.

Keep your desire in sync with God’s will, then exercise your faith, God will honour it and you will be blessed for trusting in his mighty power. Whatever a man asks in accordance to his will is done by the working of his mercy and grace.

PRAYER

Thank you, Father. I acknowledge that your words are true and not a lie. I trust that you are a living God who hears and answers prayers. Therefore, I ask that you do great and mighty things in my life in accordance to your will even as I pour out my desire to see your name highly lifted up and glorified in my life in Jesus’ name. Amen

Learn from Hezekiah – Your Desire must be His

HIS VOICE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
THURSDAY, 25TH JANUARY 2024
TOPIC: LEARN FROM HEZEKIAH – YOUR DESIRE MUST BE HIS

TEXT: PSALMS 37:4
Delight yourself in the Lord , And He will give you the desires and petitions of your heart. AMPV

We have learned how powerful our desire is in relation with the direction of God’s power. Your desire is in direct relationship with the intention of God. God will either proceed to act or withhold what he intend to do in accordance to your heart desire.

As good as this sounds, the disturbing attribute is to find out if your desire is in exact sync with God’s will and purpose. Just as we studied in the life of King Hezekiah, God’s message is for him to come home and rest in him, however; his desire is to spend some time more on earth. I believe strongly in the will of God. And you should as well. God will always make the best decision for his own people. Thus, it will be in your best interest to ensure that your desire is always in support with the will of God.

How will you achieve this? Psalms 37:4 says Delight yourself in the Lord… The Hebrew word used to represent delight is to be flexible with the ability to give oneself to another. Immersing oneself in a thing or another. Thus, to delight yourself in the Lord, is to immerse yourself in God, when you do this, it helps to redirect, concentrate and dip your thoughts in the things that pertain to the Lord. That way, the desires of your heart will be in sync with the Lord.

Another instruction to ensure that your desire is in sync with the Lord is found in Romans 12:2, it says; Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. NLT

When God changes the way you think through his word, this is how you learn to know God’s will. Therefore, your desire will be the exact will of God. Thus, when you turn to pray and set your petition before God, it will just be the exact same thing the Lord wants you to ask for in prayer. I will not emphatically say that King Hezekiah’s desired the wrong thing by asking to stay alive however, I will say with all boldness that it is important for the child of God to always maintain a sincere desire before the Lord which is in accordance with his life. So that when you pray and ask God to honour your desire, you will be sure it is the same as his.

You can’t desire sickness or believe that it is the Lord’s will for you to be bed ridden and overtaken by diseases of any kind. By the knowledge of God’s words, you know that isn’t God’s will rather to be healed is his will for you and to stay healthy. That way you can turn to the Lord, exercising your faith and ask that your desire to be healthy be granted. This way your desire is in sync with the Lord.

PRAYER

Thank you, Father. I ask that you teach me to delight and immerse myself in your will, causing my thought pattern to be in sync with your will per time that I may desire that which is your delight for my life in Jesus’ name. Amen

Learn from Hezekiah – God Honours your Desire

HIS VOICE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
WEDNESDAY, 24TH JANUARY 2024
TOPIC: LEARN FROM HEZEKIAH – GOD HONOURS YOUR DESIRE

TEXT: 2KINGS 20:2
Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the LORD , saying, KJV

I beseech thee, O LORD , remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. 2Kings 20:3 KJV

King Hezekiah’s desire was to stay alive. He went unto the Lord in prayer and declared the sentence above in prayer. This further establish the lesson we have learnt about faith as the ability to speak or voice out ones desire. Faith will always call for action and the spirit of faith speaks. Hezekiah acted out what he desired. He took the step to pray and rehearse before the ears of the Lord his need to stay alive. He wept and poured his heart before God.

The Lord honored his desire and sent the prophet Isaiah back immediately: let’s read;
And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the LORD came to him, saying, Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the LORD , the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will heal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the LORD . 2 Kings 20:4-5 KJV

And I will add unto thy days fifteen years; and I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for mine own sake, and for my servant David’s sake. 2 Kings 20:6 KJV

Instead of death as earlier delivered as message to him, the Lord added fifteen more years to his life span on earth. His desire was honoured, he received according to his faith because he respond appropriately.

You cannot afford to sleep on whatsoever you detest in your life. Don’t pamper the situation or agree with whatever pattern that have show forth in your family or lineage. You are a faith born person, rise and turn to the Lord in prayer. Weep before him who can wipe your tears with joy. Give accurate response to your faith in the Lord. Show forth your work that is needed to back up your faith and voice out your desire unto the Lord. He will honour it, yes he will.

PRAYER

Thank you, Father. I cry unto you by faith, knowing that it’s not the gravity of the situation or circumstances that matter but my response to faith. Lord, attend to my heart cry and honour my desire in accordance to your will in Jesus’ name. Amen

Godly Character IV

HIS VOICE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
SUNDAY, 25TH DECEMBER 2022
TOPIC: GODLY CHARACTER IV

TEXT: ROMANS 13:14
But clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for [nor even think about gratifying] the flesh in regard to its improper desires. AMPV

Godly character is the act of clothing oneself with the Lord Jesus Christ, and to make no provision for the flesh. Not satisfying it’s dictates, suggestion or subtle deception. We have always think that we can give any excuse for acting unbecomingly. Alas! God count on us to act within the jurisdiction of his power, grace and goodness.

Is God justified to demand godly character from us, knowing that we live in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, with people whose deeds are callous? From the knowledge of God’s word, His demand of us is justifiable. To say the truth, it isn’t really a demand but an expression of his power, and beauty which he deposited in us. In a way, we limit God when we live contrary to his ways. We communicate to the world of the unsaved, that our God is weak and feeble. Is this true? Of course not. We have come to trust and believe in a God who took our weaknesses and replaced it with his strength.

The one who purged our sins and gave us his righteousness. He didn’t demand that we live righteous before he could consider us righteous, knowing that we have no capacity under the rulership of sin to live in holiness. He saved us first, gave us his righteous nature and then ask us to live in our new environment. Therefore, God isn’t demanding, He is simply asking that we harness and make the most of the life He gave us as a gift.

Romans 5:17 says; For if by the trespass of the one (Adam), death reigned through the one (Adam), much more surely will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in [eternal] life through the One, Jesus Christ. AMPV

We have received the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness to reign in life by Christ Jesus. Grace empowers a man to live in God’s capacity not his’, and the gift of righteousness is a justifiable template that ensures that the mistakes of a man in Christ doesn’t place judgement over his relationship with God. Thus, there is nothing to fear. Step out of your comfort zone, exhibit godly living. If you make mistake at it today, go again tomorrow. Don’t give up on the truth that God’s Spirit to live a decent and responsible life is resident in you. Rather, put the devil to confusion with your character; yield to God constantly.

PRAYER

Thank you, Father. I am one who has found grace in Christ Jesus. This grace is sufficient for me, for it makes me perfect in weakness and empower me to live without fear. I walk in God’s righteousness because I do not fustrate the grace of God. God’s righteousness in me is by his grace not of works therefore, I have nothing to boast about. Amen
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

How to Yield to God VIII

HIS VOICE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
SUNDAY, 18TH DECEMBER 2022
TOPIC: HOW TO YIELD TO GOD VIII

TEXT: GALATIANS 5:26
Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another. KJV

The child of God will be faced with strong contention as He or she learn of his identity and new way of life from the word of God. This contention that will most likely appear like a fight in the mind or heart is simply the force of God’s word dominating over the force of the flesh. There is a limitation via our physical body, such that most times, we always see that it is easy to tilt to wrong doing than right doing. But there is nothing to worry, the battle of the mind is the Lord’s and He has granted victory through his Holy Spirit in you.

Do nothing except to give your heart the more to the truth of God’s word. When you fail today: instead of being patient and kind, you got angry and spoke rashly. Don’t dwell too much on your frailty. It is only to show that there is so much more to do. Go before your Father, speak to him, receive forgiveness and strength to continue to walk in the light of his word. Patience is the key to spiritual growth and development. Be very patient with yourself as the Holy Spirit is doing a massive work in your life.

It is God who is at work in you, both to will and do of his good pleasure (Philippians 2:13). And you can trust that He is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that you ask or think, according to the power that is at work in you (Ephesians 3:20)

Therefore, do not at anytime get tired and believe the lie of the devil that it is impossible to live unto God as long as one is still on earth. God isn’t asking you to be perfect, He is simply asking that you follow his leadership and learn of him. So, do that. Don’t desire vain glory, do not envy and provoke another who is making effort as you are. Spiritual growth might be faster in one person different from the other. God is specific about you. Keep your pace and don’t give up on God. He can never give up on you.

Ask the devil to shut up with his lies. Tell Him that you belong to God and unto him forgiveness, mercies and truth abides. Enjoy your fellowship and walk with God, ensure that the word of God remain your manual for living. You are dearly loved by God. Trust his Spirit at work in you.

PRAYER

Thank you, Father of light and God of all comfort. You who give peace by all means. I rejoice in your faithfulness, knowing that I am not alone. You are committed to ensure that I live unto you in holiness and righteousness as you have given me your Holy Spirit, who is the nature of love and power at work in me. I do not give up, never and ever in Jesus’ name. Amen

Your Attitude To Prayer IV

HIS VOICE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
SUNDAY, 18TH SEPTEMBER 2022
TOPIC: YOUR ATTITUDE TO PRAYER IV

TEXT: ACTS 1:24
They prayed and said, You, Lord, who know all hearts [their thoughts, motives, desires], show us which one of these two You have chosen. AMPV

I must say that the disciples had a relentless attitude towards prayer. It was not enough that Peter knew by the word of God that another must take charge of Judas’ office, He also realised that to choose the right person amidst a hundred and twenty followers required God’s direction. Thus, they choose two men who had followed closely from the beginning while Jesus started out with them who were the twelve. These two men have always been with Jesus though not among the twelve disciples (Acts 1:21)

They prayed again and asked that the Lord who knew all hearts, motive, desires and thoughts should reveal which one of these two he has choosen. Peter didn’t took the step to simply appoint any one even when he understood the will of God through his word. He led the brethren in prayers to ask for God’s guidance to appoint the right person.
It might be that you acted too quickly on that issue. Yes, you prayed and receive God’s word on what to do. But you didn’t ask Him to clarify what option to choose. Most time we assume when we are supposed to go back to our Father, haven began the journey with Him.

We can make mistake but God can’t and His Holy spirit in us cannot lead us in the wrong path. God is not static. If he said go yesterday, be wise to ask him again today if you should continue with that command or instruction because He might want you to pause or wait a little bit.

In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will direct your path. Lean not on your own understanding and don’t be wise in your own eyes. (Proverbs 3:5-7).

Proverbs 3:6 is so beautiful: In all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, And He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way]. AMPV

When you acknowledge God in prayer, over and over again; requesting for his guidance and direction, He will remove obstacles that might block your way, you will walk on a smooth and straight path. How sweet is it to walk rightly!

PRAYER

In the name of Jesus I am guided by the Lord. I refuse to lean on my own understanding, I acknowledge God, my Father in all my ways. I commit my deeds and commitment to Him over and over again. I do not get tired to ask Him what He would have me do per time. Amen

Daily Guide: Lustful Desires

And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Galatians 5:24 KJV

We should all note that there is nothing wrong with any human with sexual or intimacy desire but when it becomes obsession and someone start to imagine things then it becomes lust.

God has designed when such desires can be expressed and satisfied to the fullest and any attempt outside that divine arrangement may lead to “death”.

Are you battling with those lustful thoughts and desires? You have tried all you can but nothing seems to be working! God to God who designed it and speak to him to give you the grace to control it till the appointed time.

The grace to do so, God shall grant unto us in Jesus name, Amen.
