TOPIC: MAN WILL BE JUDGED BY JESUS
TEXT: ACTS 10:42
And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. KJV
Do not follow the ways of many who erroneously believe that God will consider their good deeds to judge them, which will determine their eternal life. The Bible teaches the truth that both the living and the dead will be judged righteously by Jesus, whom God raised from the dead through the light of the gospel (the message of salvation). Thus, John 3:18-19 says that the man who refuses to believe in Jesus (refuses to receive salvation) is condemned already. The judgement of such man is condemnation because the will of God for every man is to be saved and come to the knowledge of truth (1Timothy 2:4).
Apostle Peter, while he was at the house of Cornelius the centurion as led by God to bring the message of salvation to him and his household, unveiled in his words that the preaching of the gospel of Christ is to testify that by him all men will be judged. Apostle Paul established the same reality while he preached to the men of Athens, he said;
“And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men everywhere to repent: because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men , in that he hath raised him from the dead.” Acts 17:30-31 KJV
Therefore, Christ death and resurrection is to ascertain the eternal truth that he is the righteous judge ordained by God to judge every man in accordance with the gospel of grace. John 5:22 says: For the father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son KJV. The judgement is based on the acceptance and rejection of the gospel, the words of grace which brings salvation and the work of all who have been saved by grace. 2Corinthians 5:10 says:
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” KJV
Judgement is coming upon man on earth! It’s of peace and righteousness, to separate the sheep from the goat and to give a portion to all who believe and love his appearing. Are you still doubting if Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life? Are you still arguing with the power of the spirit of God, who is stirring your heart in repentance and faith towards God? Don’t struggle any longer, your life is determined in salvation by grace through faith in Christ Jesus; for he is the judge of the quick, and the dead. Pray with me
PRAYER
Today, I open my heart before you, who is to judge the living and the dead. I have realised that I must be saved because I am a sinner who needs a saviour. I believe in my heart, that you died for my sins, Jesus; and that God raised you from the dead by his power. I hereby confess you as my Lord and saviour. I receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life. Fill me with your spirit and lead me every day of my life on earth in Jesus’ name. Amen
