TOPIC: JESUS TOOK THE SINS OF THE WORLD

TEXT: JOHN 1:29
The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. KJV

The verse above was the testimony of John the Baptist about the identity of Jesus. He established that Jesus was before him and was preferred; He brought grace and truth, of his fullness man received grace heaped upon grace and he is the one in the bosom of the Father (John 1:, 15-18).

However, John, one of the disciples of Jesus, who was the writer of the book, which was named after him, established that the man, John the Baptist was sent to bear witness of Jesus, who is the light, that all men through him might believe in God. He also established that Jesus is the light that lights everyman that come to the world. John 1:12 says “as many who received him to them is given power to become the sons of God, even to as many that believe on his name. “

Therefore, John the Baptist recognised Jesus as one on an assignment, sent to the world to dispel darkness that has covered the earth because of sin and brought salvation to men who are in the world, gripping in darkness. John the Baptist saw Jesus and declared that he is the lamb of God, which took the sins of the world. Thus, Jesus’ life was to the end that he might take away sin, which he did in his death and by his resurrection, sin was rendered ineffective, and death was conquered, only to the end that the body made of dust is destroyed, while men who believed in Jesus, have a living hope of eternity. Hallelujah!

Thus, you do not have excuse dear man and woman in this world. You must be saved, and Jesus is the saviour of your soul. He was the ransom for your soul. In him is redemption and forgiveness of your sins. Jesus is the answer to that deep emptiness you feel within your soul. That emptiness you have covered for a long time with different forms of addictions. You thought your job would satisfy you, but it came with a lot of pressure and left you empty. You thought your marriage would give you the fulfilment you desired, but it came with frustration and unexpected disappointment. You thought riches would give you a sense of security and satisfy your cravings, alas! It came with unending competition amidst your peers.

Search no further dear, that emptiness within you is a call for salvation. Only God who created you can fill that space. You need to be saved and turn to the Lord in truth and sincerity. Pray with me

PRAYER

Lord Jesus, I give my attention to you today. I recognise that I must be saved. Forgive my sins and save me by your grace. I confess with my mouth to your lordship and believe that you died for my sins and was raised by the power of God for my justification. Thank you for saving me. Amen
