Faith in he Who is in You II

HIS VOICE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
TUESDAY, 28TH NOVEMBER 2023
TOPIC: FAITH IN HE WHO IS IN YOU II

TEXT: 1JOHN 4:4
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. KJV

The man who has faith in Christ must acknowledge that there is a spirit in this world that is contrary to his faith. He mustn’t leave in ignorance or illusion to this truth. 1John 5:19 says: And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. KJV

You must know yourself as a believer and understand that the whole world lieth in wickedness. Why? 1John 2:15-17 says; Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. KJV

All that is in the world (lust of the flesh, the eye and pride of life) are not of the Father but of this world. However, the world passeth away with its lust but he who does the will of God (he who has faith in God and continue to follow him) abides forever. There is a God of this world, he is the enemy of our faith, he is the devil. And he has his emissaries everywhere in different shapes and shades, working as evil spirit, which influence every and any man who isn’t in submission to the Lordship of Christ.

He sometimes can oppress the believer too, when such is careless and do not stay on fire for the Lord. However, he has no right over us. He can’t possess us because we have been possessed by God’s Spirit. Thus, you must recognise that there is a spirit in you even as there is a spirit in the world. And the spirit in you is greater than that which is in the world. You have got God on the inside of you. This reality sustains the Christian faith which is outrightly different from other religion.

No religion confess that their God resides in them. None. But we have our God not just in heaven, and he did not come in the flesh only, but also, refused to leave us comfortless, He is Emmanuel, one who abides with us forever. His promise is never to leave nor forsake us and he fulfilled it already. Hallelujah! Don’t be confused about your faith, stay faithful!

PRAYER

Thank you Father. For the greater one lives inside of me. Therefore, daily, I face the world with great hope that I am not alone. You are with me Lord as the mighty terrible one. With you in me, I am well able to take each day as it comes, living in the strength of your grace. Thank you Father in Jesus’ name. Amen

In His Redemption VII

HIS VOICE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
MONDAY, 25TH SEPTEMBER 2023
TOPIC: IN HIS REDEMPTION VII

TEXT: 1PETER 1:14
as obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: KJV

but as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. 1Peter 1:15-16 KJV

It is of a truth that the reality of our identity in redemption in accordance to the personality of God, spans through the scriptures. Apostle Peter just as Apostle Paul, also wrote to the saints in the church to live in the light of their identity.

He said; “as obedient children (which means children of God, who have become new creation, born by the working of the Holy Spirit, having faith in Christ Jesus and have put on the new man who is renewed in the image of him that created him. Who have become obedient to the gospel and are living even as they continue to learn to walk in the truth of God’s words), do not live any longer or pattern your life in lust as you were, when you knew nothing about God (ignorance of the way of life and truth)”.
But as God, the Holy one, who called you into his grace by his son Jesus and has also called you with a holy calling; become separated unto him in every aspect of your life because it is written, Be holy; for I am holy.

Therefore, the command to be holy is given as a result of God’s holiness. Your ability to live a holy life is anchored on God, who redeemed you from all sin and iniquity unto himself. Thus, you bear his image and likeness. Becoming as holy as he is. Holiness is first your nature in the God who is holy. It is upon this reality that you are empowered by the power of his spirit to order your life and conversation in holiness.

Which leads us to the truth that in deeds that shows holiness, you won’t be perfect. You will make mistakes, commit errors and sins. Yet, this doesn’t change the truth that you have been separated unto God. It only shows that you are yet to be matured. Like a child you must grow up. Many has failed to understand this simple difference and are quick to judge their actions as same as their identity in the Lord.

Just as Apostle Paul addressed certain brethren in the Corinthian Church, who have been saved and are saints (holy), but their actions towards one another present them as carnal (people who are babies in actions and are living as though they have not been saved)1Corinthians 3:1. You are holy because God is holy however, by learning how to walk and please the Lord, you begin to live out the character that is separated unto the lord, which requires growth and maturity over time.

PRAYER

Thank you Father. I am separated as holy unto you. Because You, who have called me is holy, therefore, I am holy. Teach me to live as one whose life is indeed delivered from the disobedience in this world. Help me to follow the instructions on how to live and interact with others daily in your word in Jesus’ name. Amen

The Counsel of his will I

HIS VOICE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
WEDNESDAY, 21ST JUNE 2023
TOPIC: THE COUNSEL OF HIS WILL I

TEXT: NUMBERS 27:21
And thou shalt put some of thine honour upon him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient.

The Lord instructed Moses to lay his hands and anoint Joshua the son of Nun in his stead to lead the children of Israel to the promised land (Numbers 27:18). He was asked to set Joshua before Eleazer the priest and before all the congregation, to give him a charge and put some of the honor upon him on Joshua, that the people might learn to obey him (Numbers 27:19-20). Moses acted according to the instruction of God. However, the Lord gave a further instruction in Numbers 27:20, it says;

And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, who shall ask counsel for him after the judgment of Urim before the LORD: at his word shall they go out, and at his word they shall come in, both he, and all the children of Israel with him, even all the congregation. KJV

The Lord instructed Moses to command Joshua to stand before Eleazer the priest, who is to ask counsel for him after the judgement of the Urim and at this counsel, Joshua and the people are to command their dealings. Thus, Eleazer as a priest is committed to give counsel and instruction in God’s will to Joshua and the people. He is the custodian of God’s counsel to Joshua and the congregation. At his word, the whole congregation is to go out and come in. This also implies that, without the judgement of the Urim, the people will lack direction and counsel. Let’s read other translation;

When direction from the Lord is needed, Joshua will stand before Eleazar the priest, who will use the Urim one of the sacred lots cast before the Lord to determine his will. This is how Joshua and the rest of the community of Israel will determine everything they should do. Numbers 27:21 NLT

Therefore, before Joshua would take any step, it is important for him to consult the priest, who will ask counsel of the Lord through the Urim. This will help him to guide his affairs right before the Lord. Thus, the duties of the priest is an important aspect of the leadership of Joshua.

Do you know that your life is important to your family, generation, nation and God? As new creation in Christ Jesus, made as Kings and Priest, we have the right to receive counsel from God not just for our lives but on behalf of others. It is our responsibility to receive the counsel of God’s will and dispense the same understanding to others. Dear child of God, you are not supposed to live in ignorance of what the will of the lord is. Ephesians 5:17 says not to be unwise but understand what the will of the Lord is. Take advantage of God’s Spirit in you.

PRAYER

Thank you, Father. I bear your light and truth; therefore, I ask that you cloth me with your grace to live in your counsel and lead others in the same in Jesus’ name. Amen

The Destroyer III

HIS VOICE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
SUNDAY, 30TH APRIL 2023
TOPIC: THE DESTROYER III

TEXT: NUMBERS 16:41
But on the morrow all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye have killed the people of the LORD. KJV

It is quite funny that while God judged the action of Korah, Dathan and Abiram with the 250 men, the rest of the congregation held Moses and Aaron responsible. They failed to learn from their misdeed instead they also murmur and accused them of killing the people of God.

This is how most Christians act. As a result of our lack of understanding and revelation of God’s standard in certain spiritual matters, we put ourselves up against God’s will and drag spiritual authority in the mud, placing on them faults and several accusations.

By the reason of their action, God showed up and the plague broke out in the midst of the people. Moses with haste commanded Aaron to go right in the midst of the congregation with a censer with fire from the altar inorder that the plague might not spread and cause the death of the people, who spoke rashly with their mouth. However, it was recorded that the people who died by the plague was more than those who died alongside Korah. What a pity! (Numbers 16:42-50)

Again, I say, don’t join multitude to commit evil. It is evil to speak against God’s men and God’s work. It is the handiwork of the destroyer, who seek to divide the church and work against men by turning their hearts and thoughts against spiritual authority. The destroyer knows that it is easy to get the people of God into the place of condemnation and destruction when they have a reason to walk in dishonour. So, he allow you to be offended, and cause you to fall for every lie and deceit against your leaders.

Be watchful! Guard your heart with all diligence. Refuse to speak or respond whenever anyone or set of people give a valid evidence against God’s people or God’s work. Listen if its compulsory, but don’t believe it. Choose to stand with God and his work on earth. The honor of God is upon his vessels, honor them and love God’s people.

Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 1Corinthians 10:11 KJV

All that we have learned are for our admonition, that we might receive God’s wisdom to walk acceptably and humbly before him. I call you blessed and I will meet you next month.

PRAYER

Thank you, Lord. From now on, I walk in wisdom and honour towards God and his ordained vessels in Jesus’ name. Amen

The Scriptures II

HIS VOICE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
MONDAY, 2ND JANUARY 2023
TOPIC: THE SCRIPTURES II

TEXT: 2TIMOTHY 3:15
and that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. KJV

Yesterday, we set out to learn of God’s word as defined in the scriptures. Jesus’ statement established that the knowledge of God’s word is found in the scripture, and when a man lacks this knowledge, he is liable to misinterpret the word of God and coordinate his affairs in lack of understanding. His statement also affirm that the scripture is God’s power as touching resurrection.

Our text is the writings of Apostle Paul to Timothy, his son in the faith. He had earlier encouraged him in the ministry and gave him certain instructions. From his affirmation of Timothy’s knowledge, He made this statement: “from a child, Timothy has known the holy scripture which is able to make him wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus”.

Two points must be drawn from Apostle Paul’s assertion about Timothy. First, from a child doesn’t connote “from baby or cradle”; He is simply saying from a child “as to when he got born again”. According to 1Peter 2:2, one who is born again, is considered a newborn baby. So, from this point, he or she is expected to grow by learning God’s word. Thus, Apostle Paul was saying that from Timothy’s transformation, he has begun to learn the holy scripture.

The second point is his definition of the knowledge that the holy scripture gives. He said ” you have known the holy scripture which is able to make you wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. Therefore, The Holy Scripture gives the wisdom of salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. In the scripture is the knowledge of salvation revealed. Aside this, it is also affirmed that salvation is only gotten through faith in Christ Jesus.

This makes it important for you to receive the knowledge of the scripture. It will enable you to understand that salvation is through faith in Christ Jesus. We are still left with the question of what the scripture entails?

Follow closely, there is so much to learn. God’s word will be made bare to our heart in Christ. Amen

PRAYER

Thank you Father. The entrance of your word gives light, and it gives understanding to the simple. I receive light and understanding of your word. Nothing is hidden to my inner eyes and heart. There is spiritual knowledge given unto me by the power of the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ name. Amen

Do Not Sin I

HIS VOICE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
WEDNESDAY, 7TH DECEMBER 2022
TOPIC: DO NOT SIN I

TEXT: 1JOHN 2:1
My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: KJV

We have fully established that sin is forgiven through redemption that is in Christ Jesus. Any man who desires forgiveness must come by the righteousness of faith which is anchored on the word of faith. Confession of the Lord Jesus with the mouth, and believe in his death and resurrection with the heart is how a man is saved. Jesus is the atonement by which a man is delivered from the bondage of sin and death.

To confess Jesus deals with both the nature of sin inherited by man born of a woman to this world, and also the deeds of sin. The death of Jesus and his resurrection deals with the root cause of sin and bestow upon man the righteous nature of God. By this righteous nature, he who is saved can now produce through his everyday living and relationship with God, fruits of righteousness. (Romans 6:20-22)

But does it mean that the believer is now perfect in his actions and can not commit wrong or sin again immediately he get saved? No, the believer is not perfect in his actions yet, he is supceptible to make mistakes or commit sin once in a while. Then we must know what provision is available when such happen to a believer.

First, it doesn’t mean that such a person has now cease to be a child of God. Not at all. He is very much a child of God. What is expected is to lay hold on that mistake, bring it before God in prayer, receive forgiveness of sin and continue to learn of God in fellowship and yield to the spirit of God.

Our main text in 1John 2:1 says; I write unto you dear children that you sin not. The instruction is very clear, do not sin. But if you sin, there is an advocate for you; He is Jesus the righteous; the one who is the sacrifice (propitiation) for your sins. This isn’t to indulge any believers weakness or allow him continue to sin, but not to remain stuck in the work of the devil and his mistake in that he had done that which is wrong and against God’s will.

The truth about Jesus as our advocate is to enable believers to fight and rise up to live in righteousness as God is righteous. It is to bring to your consciousness that you are not alone on this journey of faith and when you fall, there is room to rise again, pick up the baton and keep running. Do not sin as beloved children of God.

PRAYER

Thank you, Father, for Jesus is my advocate. I am not alone and I have the capacity to live righteously, godly and soberly in this world in the Lord. Amen

Walk In Love

HIS VOICE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
SUNDAY, 30TH OCTOBER 2022
TOPIC: WALK IN LOVE

TEXT: EPHESIANS 5:1
Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. (NLT)

A call to imitate God in everything you do is a call to growth and maturity. As dear children, it is expected that we learn of our heavenly Father and act as He would. God is love and acting like him, will be to act in love. This is a vital aspect of the new life in Christ.

This chapter continue with further instructions and revelation, it says; Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God. (Vs 2)

You are asked to live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. Do you realise the commandment has changed? You are to love as Christ loved you not as the other party expresses his love towards you. The focus of your reaction is Christ not man. This is a call to live unto God and for him alone not unto man.

With this instruction are further revelation which buttressed the truth that you cannot continue to live as though you do not have God’s life in you. Read closely.

Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among Gods people. Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokesthese are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God. (Vs3-4)

You can be sure that no immoral, impure, or greedy person will inherit the Kingdom of Christ and of God. For a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world. Dont be fooled by those who try to excuse these sins, for the anger of God will fall on all who disobey him. Dont participate in the things these people do. (Vs 5-7)

For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So, live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true. (Vs 8-9)

God hate every work of the flesh which are sinful attitude and actions. We used to engage in this type of actions before we were saved. But now, such must not continue because we are now light in the Lord and are commanded to walk as children of light. This is our ability and capacity to live unto God. You and I are now light in the Lord!

PRAYER

Thank you Father. You have delivered me from the power of darkness into the kingdom of your dear son which is light. I do not indulge in works of darkness anymore; I walk in light by the power of the Holy Spirit in me in Jesus’ name. Amen

Love Is Righteousness

HIS VOICE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
FRIDAY, 28TH OCTOBER 2022
TOPIC: LOVE IS RIGHTEOUSNESS

TEXT: 1 JOHN 3:10
In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. KJV

We have wholly studied redemption even the forgiveness of our sin by the blood of Jesus and righteousness as the gift of God’s forgiveness in Christ Jesus. This foundation is the basis for the believer’s identity as a new man who live by this gift. From here, we went further to establish the knowledge that is embedded in the new creation life and how through it the believer is called to a life of growth and maturity.

This is the genesis of God’s love in us which is now a call to maturity in the display of the same to others. The believer’s nature of righteousness will cause him to do only that which is righteous. To walk in love towards others is a righteous deed. As we read in the second part of our main text. It says, we can recognise and differentiate the children of God from the children of the devil by their righteous deeds. And whosoever that does not love his brother is not doing a righteous thing. He is acting in unrighteousness which is not his nature since he or she is born again.

This is to bring to your consciousness that righteousness is love. God is love and he is righteous. And because love and righteousness are his nature, you inherit the same nature of God in Christ. Therefore, it will be wrong to act contrary to what you have the capacity to do. (1 John 4:8)

Don’t ever lose the truth that love is your identity in Christ. ‘And this is his commandment, that we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment’. (1 John 3:23 KJV)

Instead of getting worried over the need to make heaven from where you function from as a child of God, whether you recognise it or not, why not keep your eyes on the will of God for you in Christ. Become occupied with the expression of God’s love to others. Give your totality to walking in God’s love and let your life be centered on doing the utmost good for others. Sacrifice your satisfaction for others and put them first. That’s the way to live as new creation man. You are doing the work of righteousness by loving others.

PRAYER

Thank you Father for the revelation of your word. I asked that you help me to be conscious of the truth that I can love others beyond the natural because you have given me the spiritual capacity to do so. Let this understanding take dominance in my heart beyond words in Jesus’ name. Amen

The Father Gives I

HIS VOICE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
TUESDAY, 13TH SEPTEMBER 2022
TOPIC: THE FATHER GIVES I

TEXT: MATHEW 7:11
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? KJV

Our heavenly Father gives good things. His ability to give isn’t dependent on our character or disposition towards Him. He gives because he loves. The testimony of the depth of his love towards all men in the world is the gift of his Son Jesus Christ. With Christ as an eternal gift of life to all men, God our Father is able to give us everything else according to his will for us and our desire in Him.

Dear child of God, you are yet to come to the full realization of how willing God is to give you good things. James 1:17 says; Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. KJV
With God as our Father, there is no variableness neither shadow of turning. This means that he doesn’t change and his actions are not subject to feelings or situation. He is not a man that changes with time, our Father is a Spirit, He who dwells in Light. Hallelujah!

With this understanding, you should ask Him and be willing to receive from Him good things. God compared himself with our earthly father, who despite their frailty would not give a serpent to us when we ask for fish and wouldn’t give a stone when we ask for bread. He said how much more will He, who has no scent of evil is willing to give us good gift.

Is there anything good you desire of God? Ask him, He will give you, he isn’t wittholding anything from you. If there is a delay, ask Him again to know what is happening so that you won’t be working in disobedience or ignorance. Our Father want us to trust in Him more than anything or anyone else. He desires that we trust and lean on his love for us.

We have come to know [by personal observation and experience], and have believed [with deep, consistent faith] the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides continually in him. 1 John 4:16 AMP

Do you believe in the love that God has for you?

PRAYER

My Father, forgive my faithlessness in the sincerity of your love towards me. I cease from being worked up, agitated and frustrated as a result of my worries. I trust in your ability to give when I ask and your overwhelming love that care for me more than I can imagine. I rest solely in your arms now and forever in Jesus’ name. Amen

Nurture in The Lord I

HIS VOICE DAILY DEVOTIONAL
THURSDAY, 4TH AUGUST 2022
TOPIC: NUTURE IN THE LORD I

TEXT: PSALMS 44:1
We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, What work thou didst in their days, in the times of old. KJV

The commandment to nurture our children or young ones in the ways of the Lord has been from old. The children of Israel by the hand of Moses was admonished with the same command. In Deuteronomy 6:1-9, Moses addressed the people, He reminded them to keep the statutes of the Lord and live in his commandment. But much more, He emphasized that they must teach it to their son and son’s son. All that God did for them and the manner in which they are expected to live in the fear of God must be passed to their children. Let’s read verse 4-7

Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: and thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. Deuteronomy 6:4-7 KJV

They were to teach and talk about the words of the Lord to their children. And must be a continuous and consistent practice. “When they sit in the house, walk by the way, when they lie down and rise up”. God demands thorough teaching and communication of his ways to their children.

Jesus pointed out in Mathew 22:37-40, when one of the Pharisee who was a lawyer asked him; which is the greatest commandment? He said unto him: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. KJV

As believers in Christ Jesus, we have the commandment to teach our children in the light of these two commands upon which all the laws and the prophets hangs just as Moses command the children of Israel. To love the Lord with the heart and mind is to have faith in Him (born again) and to love our neighbors as ourselves is to walk in love as a debt we owe others. We must live in this light and this truth, we must teach others. God is counting on us and we must not fail Him.

PRAYER

Thank you dear Lord. Your word is my meditation all day long and the same I communicate to my children, my sons and daughters and everyone around me. Proclaiming the goodness of God in salvation and teaching to have faith in God till the end of age in Jesus’ name. Amen
